Ingredients: 2 cups Original Bisquick mix 1 1/3 cups milk 1 egg 2 tablespoons vegetable oil Toppings: Whipped cream Sliced strawberries (sugar added) Chopped walnuts Syrup Every year for a long as I can remember, we have made waffles for Christmas morning breakfast. I am a lover of tradition and always look forward to this meal.  Directions: 1.  Stir all ingredients together. 2. Pour batter onto waffle iron. Pour in the center 3. Bake for 5 minutes and remove. My mom is the expert so...she did it all;) I know this is a silly post, anyone can follow steps on the side of a Bisquick box, but I wanted to share the happenings of my family's Christmas!  Paul loving his Christmas breakfast! On Christmas Eve, all seven of us head to Denton, TX to see my grandparents. We have a big dinner with them, open gifts, then return to Keller at the end of the night for midnight mass. I have heard a saying that "the best...

William Sonoma Secret Simmer

Image
William Sonoma Secret Simmer Ingredients: A few sprigs of fresh rosemary 1 large lemon 1 tsp vanilla I think everyone can agree that Anthropologie and William Sonoma are the two best smelling stores on the planet. Since I already own every candle ever sold at Anthro, I decided to give the famous William Sonoma Simmer a try! This heavenly concoction took about 5 seconds to make and is currently filling my home with its gorgeous scent.  Directions: 1. Pour two cups of water into a pot on medium heat. 2. Add 4-5 sprigs of fresh rosemary. 3. Slice large lemon and add. 4. Pour in one teaspoon of vanilla. Stir and allow to simmer on low to medium heat. Add water as necessary. Garden fresh rosemary! I am currently obsessed with the chalkboard that I painted. I spent way too much time drawing (chalking?) this, but it was so worth it. May your days be merry & bright.

My Mini Chalkboard

Image
DIY Mini Chalkboard Materials: Framed Mirror Chalkboard Paint Paint brush Painters tape I have been wanting to make a framed chalkboard for awhile now, every weekend I promise myself I am going to craft, but then I never do. Fortunately, I have the entire week of Thanksgiving off and finally decided to create this adorable decoration. I went to Hobby Lobby today and to my happy surprise, all mirrors were 50% off! This one was $69.99 and I got it for $34.99. Such a steal. I had read online a few different ways to paint a mirror with chalkboard paint, some said to gently sand it with steel wool, but I decided to forgo that step. I cleaned the glass with Windex and allowed it to fully dry. I then lined the inside of the mirror with painters tape. Be sure to tape it off well!  My mom has an entire chalkboard wall at the top of her stairwell and had plenty of paint left over that I used. My advice- MIX IT WELL! It must be the nat...

Pumpkin Roll Ingredients: 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup flour 3 eggs 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon 2/3 cup canned pumpkin 8 ounces softened cream cheese 3 tablespoons softened butter 1 cup powered sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla With just a few days left in November, I only have a couple more "everything-pumpkin-flavored" recipes to share before they become "everything-peppermint-flavored". Pumpkin Roll is my favorite Thanksgiving dessert and I couldn't wait to share this festive treat. Directions Preheat oven to 350 F. Mix together sugar, flour, eggs, baking soda, cinnamon and pumpkin. Line cookie sheet with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray. Spread mixture evenly on cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and turn on to a towel immediately. Roll into a long log an let cool. This is the most intimidating part.. but the roll is more forgiving than you'd think! Allow to cool. Wh...
